Who Dat, Where Dat?

Whoa such a long time since I have been here. For that I are very sorry.



Firstly, to all those who have enquired, yes I am very much still alive (sorry to all those who were hoping otherwise :P) Have been run off my feet with work and life in general. And speaking of general, many of you will not know that Picard now has a boyfriend, Loki's younger brother Sparrow..................................... Handsome aint he!



Poor little blighter will only eat 1 specific seed, hulled Oats, which means that I had a very long a tedious task of converting him to eat other more interesting things. So far that list includes, broccoli, corn, toast, cheese, silver beet, and pretty much, whatever I am eating! Though that means that most of the time, he can not eat what I am eating.

Life in general is damn good. It seems that I have made it through Winter without the usual amounts if flu and other 'wintry not so goodies sicknesses' And with that, I and my wallet are most very grateful! And with Spring now upon us, I get to see if I have also managed somehow to avert the annual festival of Hay fever! This should prove to be very interesting, and no-doubt entertaining.

Work, ah let's see, work, is well, work like! Nah seriously, work is great. Busy, and also entertaining.
There is a new development happening at the Hobart Airport (many of you will know about this, well those of you in Oz that is) For those of you who don't basically it is going to be, a 78 room hotel, Harvey Norman (electrical Store) K & D (hardware store) though why anyone visiting Tasmania would need to buy things from a hardware store, that is unless they are going to pull a Jet Li (watch Romeo Must Die) then I can fully understand why the government is putting one in. There will all so be a DFO (direct factory outlet) like the ones in Melbourne and Sydney. Yes, Us, Poor little left out Tassie, is FINALLY getting a DFO.
Anyway the point of telling you all of that, is that Work has, it would seem, managed to be elected to build and Manage, the WWTP (waste water treatment plant) that needs to be built to handle all the err well shit 'n' stuff that all these new stores will produce. So that is quite a nice little 2.2 million dollar project that should keep us somewhat rather busy for quite a while.

My love life you ask? Well Adrian and I are still very much together, and things are going Fanfuckingtastic! And that is all I am going to tell you. (ha bet you thought I were going to go into detail didn't ya, well :P TOUGH, I don't wanna tell you pervs nothing! Just use your imagination!! And with Adrian arriving on Friday Night, i are sure imaginations will be running wild!

Family, yes they are all so going well, Though yesterday I got the sad news that my brothers dog Squeak had to be put down as she was very, very sick, poor thing had liver cancer. RIP widdle Squeaky, I are going to miss havin you stick your nose in my pockets looking for kibbles.
Still on the topic of my brother, he and his wife bec, are expecting their first child in November, (yes people that's right I are going to be an Aunt!!!) Most people in the family know the sex of the baby, all cept for dad, as he did not want to know, which is fair enough, wants to be surprised!! Soooooooooo that means that I 'anit going to tell you! you will just have to wait till I gets some cute pics of said new niece or nephew. Once again I go :P
The renovation of the parentals back yard is progressing very nicely. Looks good to. I should have got some 'before' pics, ahh well you will just have to make do with the 'after' pics when it is finished.

Friends, well now, Anita and Dave are getting Married January, next year. I am a bridesmaid, yes people I am wearing a dress, makeup and will look, and behave like a lady. Should make for an interesting blog post! Not to mention the Hen's night, now that'll be one hell of a post!
Joey's new beau Brian has moved from Launceston to Hobart to be with her, they are now livin together.
And to be honest, I have not seen much of anyone else of late, due to my being insanely busy.

Well that about wraps things up, I better go do some work.

Loki meet world, world meet Loki :P

Lookit I'm BAAAACK!!!

Ok so after a fairly lengthy absence, and receiving several emails, and calls regarding my health and safety................no I am not Broken...............*does a quick once over and pat down............nope all assembled and non broken. I am back.

Things have been rather hectic for me of late, with the moving of ones office from Moonah to Salamanca, Christmas preparations, Ant invasions and Hand raising a baby cockatiel.

Mum's Cockatiels outside, decided that it was rather cold, and instead of purchasing a T.V like any normal animal would do, they though it would be a much better idea to get down and funky with their bad selves..........................and around 30 days later, there are 4 very nekked and very cute babies in the nesting box. One, was booted from the nest and subsequently died. And then there were 3. Now, as the process goes, the parent birds were feeding and warming and giving the general care to their young as they should, BUT somewhere along the line, something went wrong and they stopped feeding them, and even when to the extreme of booted one baby out.

So mum gave one baby to a friend who is currently raising and looking after that baby. And upon a successful completion of getting the bird to eat seed, will keep the bird as her own. That leaves 2 right?

So with birds 1 and 2, also known as Sparrow and Loki this is the story.

Once inside mum began the tedious task of feeding Sparrow and Loki with special bird raising formula and a spoon. This was going well until Loki got really, really sick. Enter Mel with her massive amounts of information on Birds. Upon my arrival, Loki looked bad, Laying on his side and he could not sit up, wheezing and shivering. Mum had come to the conclusion that Loki would be dead by the end of the day. But I was dammed if I was going to give up. Enter the hot water bottle. Snuggled against my chest, wrapped in towels and heated by the hot water bottle, Loki started to improve a little. A trip to James Harris the avian vet in Sandy Bay and a great several $$ later, it was concluded that Loki did not have any illness, no bacteria or infection, the vet came to the conclusion that Loki could have a developmental problem which could be hindering his well development. It would seem that sue to this problem Loki was starved, and malnourished.

With the purchase of a heat pad and smaller 'hospital' cage, some tender Levin care and being fed every 3 hours Loki was well on the way to recovery.

Now in order to administer these feeds every 3 hours, little Loki has been coming to work with me...................Yes people, C. Johnstone and Associates now has a mascot!!
The guys at work find it all rather amusing, on the first day I had Loki here, a client arrived to collect some plans, he was rather surprise to find the office manager (that'd be me) talking on the phone whilst feeding Loki. Clint then replied, Hi and welcome to CJA Engineers and Vetenary services!! And seeing as how I feed Loki in the lunch room, this just seems to amuse them further! *shrug

No I have taken some pics of Loki and will post them soon.

Today Loki is investigating the seed and water containers in his cage. He is whistling and tweeting often and trust me when I say, My god he's so cute!!

Now by all means Loki is not 'out of the woods yet' we still need to get him off the formula and onto eating seed and things. He has also managed to hurt his foot and has an appointment with the vet this afternoon.

Now as for Sparrow, he/she is well and has had no problems at all, and Sparrow goes to a new home after christmas as he/she has been promised to friends of Mum and Dad's. As for Loki, after all this time and lovin, he is staying with us, well with mum to be exact, (unfortunately I don't have the room for another bird otherwise Loki would be heading home with me!) We just don't want to run the risk of selling him to someone and have them not look after him properly. So, move over Monty, Carlo and Pie, LOKI is in the house!!


So that people is why I have been AWOL!!

Now onto christmas things. Adrian gets back from his Darwin/Christmas Island Navy trip on the 17th of December so I am going to say right now, there will be no updates over christmas!!

The slow but steady invasion of ants that I have been having over the past few weeks will come to an abrupt end as I have arranged for an exterminator to well come exterminate them!! *insert EVIL laugh here* Little fuckers.

And that people is what I call and update of massive proportions. I hope that this will suffice and keep you all happy and content for a while as I am not sure when I'll be able to do another update, (other than posting pics of Loki)

Home Again, Home Again Tiddly Pom

Well folks, I is back from Sydney.

Fun was had, Zoo was seen, and Otters are shy and swim/waddle away when you try and takes a photo of them. (Little buggers)

I shall at some point up load the zoo pics. Can't right now too tired, must sleep and stuff.

On a side note this is my 100th Post, errr, ahhh W00T, Yay and other joyous discripting words.

Adrian is going away on the 9th of October for two months to Perth (insert sad pouty face here) On the up side he will be here for 4 glorious weeks over Christmas. (insert huge happy grin and a little happy dance here)

Spanky Pants is off to Melbourne on Thursday so at some point I gotta take my suitcase over to her place (ooops better make sure I unpack it first huh) and then cos I am such a nice person I am also driving her to the airport.

Sydney Here I Come

Well today is the day............FINALLY *clears throat *Sings; All my bags are packed, I'm ready to go.......................'

Just gotta make it through a few hours of work, (managed to scam a few hours off with pay!! OH YEA!!)
Picard is at the Parentals, took her up there Thursday night, little bugger was havin so much fun teasin Carlo, (well more like flashin her butt at him) that she did not notice that I had left! Which is good I suppose, less stress for her. When I got home the house was sooo empty with Picard gone. *sigh not little chirps, no loud, "mummy you're home let me out NOW' squawks.

Well that is about it for today, and the weekend, you'll have to wait till tuesday to get the details and pics etc. Hope you all have a good weekend.

Funny, Funny, Ha, Ha

A teacher is explaining biology to her 4th grade students. "Human beingsare the only animals that stutter", she says. A little girl raises her hand.
